My dog my be lazy, but I have been crazy busy the last week. I have been sketching ideas down before actually making them lately. It gives me more play room with the clay. While the clay may not dry in the air, it still sticks to itself and I can lose some from failed ideas. :]

Of course I always do end up making the prettiest beads from those, but still! hehe..

Not much to say today. I spent the weekend in Raleigh visiting friends and generally hanging out. Taking a day to get the shop in order and rephotograph some older pieces. Thank god for photographer friends who give me pointers! Love you guys so much <3

Enjoy your Sunday guys! I'm going back over to the window to take some great photos.

Tonite I'm working on some more geeky goodness. Mario certainly wasn't the first video game I ever played, but it was the first game that was MINE. The series has gone through a lot of changes, but the fun factor is still there, even while playing the new one over at my friend's house on the Wii.

MawSo tonite is a geeky charm night. I started with a small ball of red Scupley III. I cut it halfway through with an xacto blade to create the mouth opening. Smoothing the edgess a bit, I played with the shape some. I don't want this to be completely round, so I squeezed the sides until I got the desired, basic shape.

LipsNext, I took some white and made the lips. I figured it would be easier to make them two pieces instead of one. Sculpey can get pretty sticky when you work with it for long periods of time, or have warm hands, so I was able to just set the lips over the maw for it to stay.

Spots I let the clay sit for a few minutes and took some pictures. Sculpey does not harden in air, but it will firm up a bit. I wanted it to be a bit firmer before resuming work. I got the white clay out again and rolled out a tiny bit in order to make spots. I carefully placed them on the little guy, and marked his lips with my pin for some texture.

The rest you will have to wait till this weekend ;] Oh come on, surprises are half the fun!

I checked through my receipt again and noticed the transaction was from China! So it took awhile, but it was worth it. They look great with my charms, and I look forward to using them more.

I spent some time today working on some more video game inspired pieces. What would you guys think of some desk bling? Like something just to set on your desk/counter/what have you. I have some great ideas, but I'm not sure if I would rather make them necklaces or not. Comment me with your opinions, I would love to know!

Short blog is short, but it is getting late, and I have a lot of sketching ahead. I'll post a bigger update tomorrow ;]

Long day, it snowed...AGAIN. Thankfully most of it melted away already, but I have to tell you, I rolled my eyes when it started last night. I never thought, living in the south, that I would get TIRED of snow. I do have to admit though, all that white stuff makes for some great natural lighting when I'm taking pictures! :]

Geekery is in demand at the moment. I'm thinking about taking this week to work on some video game oriented necklaces and earrings in between working on commissions. I've received some great feedback lately, and I want to put it to good use.

Oh and my ribbons came in! I was so happy when our postman came up and delivered it. :] They are 18 inch, multi-part ribbons with lobster clasps in the back. They look so lovely with the charms, I was so happy to get them. I'll get some ball chain necklaces next time so the guys can have a little something more manly if the want.

Still have yet to find my memory card for the nicer camera, but that little old 3 megapixel one is still kicking. As long as I have good lighting, it's all good.

Today was a foray into making business cards online. It wasn't pleasant, to say the least. I have the image files ready, but every site is different, so it creates a lot of problems. I'll figure it out, but in the meantime, I'll have to rely on my signature in emails to spread the word of cuteness! Meanwhile, I learned that if you type "business cards" in your twitter updates, you get about a million spam accounts adding you, hehe.

Cherry BlossomI made some flower charms today! I started with a cherry blossom, as it's one of my favorites, but I also made a violet. I want to work on blending colors together to make some more interesting color combinations. What flower should I make next..hmm..
