Oh dear sweet lord. I went to the fabulous Don Ishiyaki and Ramen for a bit of a different kind of meal tonite. I usually get the yakisoba when I go to noodle houses, but I tried the lovely Bibimbap instead. I was tempted by the kimchi.
Kimchi is an interesting beast in and of itself. I had never tried it up to this point, but I knew it was a huge part of Korean cuisine. Pickled, spicey goodness, fermented and served.
I wish I could say I enjoyed it. I WANTED to enjoy it, but my taste buds couldn't get the hang of it. The meal wasn't a total loss though. The actual bibimbap was delicious beyond words. Crunchy, toasted rice mixed with beef, vegetables, bean sprouts, and egg. I was in foodie heaven.
Next time though..I think I'll stick with the udon.
